During our city trip, we stayed in a hotel very close to the airport with a shuttle service that runs frequently and on time. The buffet breakfast offered at the hotel was delicious with lots of variety to choose from. We also enjoyed the modern amenities such as the gym and the pool.
Although the hotel was conveniently located, the rooms were a bit outdated and had a slight odor of smoke. the staff were not very accommodating when we requested a specific room.

the room is very clear and staff are friendly.
On the website, it said " 3 Km from airport", but when i took the taxi it is actually around 13 Km. Maybe the taxi driver made some mistake and made it longer, but when i check the GPS it 7.8Km. In all, 3 Km from airport is impossible. But this is the only reason i wanted to book this hotel.

Lihao International Hotel is extremely luxurious! I was surprised at how beautiful the hotel was, especially once I saw my room. Considering the price I paid, I did not expect it to be so fancy! Despite the heat of the time, I had a wonderful sleep in the huge bed with the room climate controlled. The staff were very helpful, and did not allow our language barrier to restrict their high level of service. When I wanted to use the free internet, a staff member came up to my room promptly to show me how. Breakfast was a new experience for me, as I have never travelled in China before. But there was such a large variety available that I was able to try new foods and ultimately find many things that I loved. The shuttle bus to the airport was great too. I made my connecting flight with ease the following morning. There are also restaurants, a supermarket and a lovely bakery just across the road.
It would have been good to have had a sheet on the bed as well as the heavier blanket, as it would have been more suitabe for the warm weather. Also, my friend and I craved a cold drink at breakfast. The orange juice was served hot, and the ice available was unable to reduce the temperature down adequately. More labels of the food atbreakfast could also be an improvement. But do not be dismayedby these suggestions - these minor flaws may only have applied to us Australians, and they did not detract from our very positive impression of the hotel,.

The breakfast selection could have been better.

The bedroom was excellent.
This is only a "not quite so good" item, not a really bad one. The method of ordering food was odd - look at pictures on one floor, and get someone to write it down to be served on another! The service itself was not really up to standard, we were given food with no chopsticks (or other implements) to eat it with, and had to ask for chopsticks, and then one item did not arrive until we asked for it again. Paying for the meal was a performance in itself, involving 3 people, a phone call to bring a 4th, and then a trip to another floor to pay! However this was all just small detail, the stay was fine in everyother way.

I phoned the hotel from the airport about 11 pm to ask about a shuttle service the other hotels were using. I was pleased they offered to pay my taxi fare to the hotel - especially when it turned into a 15 min trip, rather than what I expected from the advertising that influenced my decision to stay at the airport.
The hotel advertises it is 3 km from the airport but it is 15 min by taxi and 20 min by bus (free) on a Sunday with no traffic, so may be around 15 km, when other "airport" hotels are much closer. The 3 km claim may relate to distance from the airport precinct. My credit card was charged 800 cny on arrival, then the 580 agreed rate when I checked out. Language problems left me unconvinced the 800 would be voided else credited. I arrived 6 hours late due to flight disruption and it would have been nice to have something in the bar fridge.

The staff were friendly and are willing to help. However, the hotel is mainly intended for travelers from chaina and the few foreign guests I saw in the hotel had a chinese guide/ host always with them.
The restaurant should also get a menu card in english with some description. The hotel promised me to provide me free transport from the airport which ultimately did not arrive... They should give clear directions with approximate taxi fares. If necessary, write in chinese that can be shown to the driver. The shanghai taxi drivers are hopeless...

Great value & Convenient Location Stayed here during a city break and was pleasantly surprised by how affordable this hotel was. the location was also very convenient and within walking distance to a convenience store and local restaurants. the hotel also offered a complimentary shuttle service to the airport, which was a plus!
Limited Services and Rooms the hotel's offerings are quite limited and the rooms were small and not very well-kept. There were also no staff available to assist with baggage, and the language barrier made it difficult to communicate with reception.
